What happened
CenterEdge Software provided point-of-sale systems with fingerprint scanners to entertainment centers in Illinois. The lawsuit alleges that CenterEdge violated BIPA (Biometric Information Privacy Act) by collecting and storing fingerprint data from employees without providing required disclosures or obtaining written consent. CenterEdge denies any violation of the law.
Do you qualify?
Anyone who scanned their fingerprint into a CenterEdge system while employed at a trampoline park or other similar entertainment center in Illinois between April 29, 2014 and March 20, 2024. This includes two groups: those already identified by their employer as having used the fingerprint scanner, and those who specifically worked at Sky Zone Trampoline Parks in Elmhurst, Aurora, or Joliet, Illinois.
How to file
Group 1 members (already identified) receive payment automatically and need not file anything. Group 2 members (Sky Zone employees) must file a Claim Form by June 24, 2024, providing their contact information and verifying they scanned their fingerprint at a Sky Zone location. Claim Forms can be completed online using the Claimant ID from the Notice received, or printed and mailed to the Settlement Administrator.
