Idaho National Laboratory Data Breach Settlement

What happened

Idaho National Laboratory experienced a targeted cyberattack on its computer systems in December 2023. Files containing private information such as full names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and medical treatment and health insurance information were accessed. The defendant denies wrongdoing and the court has not decided the case; the parties settled to avoid litigation costs and risks.

Do you qualify?

Anyone whose private information was compromised in the December 2023 Idaho National Laboratory data incident and received notice indicating they are a Class Member.

• Extraordinary Expenses Reimbursement

  $5,000 each

  Reimbursement for up to $5,000 in losses due to fraud or identity theft caused by the Data Incident. Requires proof such as receipts and applies only to losses not covered by other insurance or reimbursement. Available only to class members whose SSNs were impacted.

• Ordinary Expenses Reimbursement

  $1,000 each

  Reimbursement for up to $1,000 in documented out-of-pocket expenses such as credit report fees, ID replacement costs, or postage related to the Data Incident. Requires proof and applies only to expenses not previously reimbursed. Available only to class members whose SSNs were impacted.

• Flat Cash Payment

  $75 each

  An additional flat payment of $75 with no proof or explanation required. Available only to class members whose SSNs were impacted.

Who is in the class

All individuals residing in the United States whose Private Information was compromised in the Idaho National laboratory's Data Incident disclosed on or about December 12, 2023.

How to file

Submit a valid Claim Form by February 28, 2026. You can file online or download the form and mail it to the Settlement Administrator. You will need the Notice ID and PIN from the postcard you may have received to file a claim online.
