New York Blood Center Data Breach Settlement

What happened

New York Blood Center, Inc. and Memorial Blood Centers suffered a targeted cyberattack on their computer systems in January 2025 that compromised private information in certain files. These files contained sensitive personal information including names, dates of birth, gender, Social Security numbers, blood type, blood test results, and financial information. The defendants deny wrongdoing, and the parties agreed to settle to avoid the costs and risks of continuing litigation.

Anyone who received notice that their private information was compromised in the January 2025 data incident affecting New York Blood Center, Inc. or Memorial Blood Centers, as indicated by the Blood Centers' records.

What you can claim

• Cash Payment A – Documented Losses

  $2,500 each

  Class members who lost money because of identity theft or fraud probably caused by the Data Incident can be reimbursed up to $2,500.00 for documented losses that occurred between January 26, 2025, and February 11, 2026, provided they tried to prevent the loss or recover funds through existing insurance.

• Cash Payment B – Alternate Cash

  $20 each

  Class members may claim a one-time $20.00 payment instead of Cash Payment A, with no documentation required. This amount may increase or decrease based on the amount of valid claims and available settlement funds.

Who is in the class

All persons residing in the United States who were sent notice that their Private Information was compromised in the Data Incident experienced by Defendants in January 2025.

How to file

Submit a valid and timely Claim Form by the February 11, 2026 deadline. You can submit online at the settlement website, download and mail the form to the Settlement Administrator, or call/email the Administrator to request a paper copy.
