What happened

In September 2023, Red Roof Inns suffered a data security incident that potentially exposed personal identifying information of customers. The lawsuit alleges that Red Roof failed to implement and maintain reasonable security measures to protect this information. Red Roof denies liability and wrongdoing.

Do you qualify?

All individuals who were notified by Red Roof that their personal information was or may have been compromised in the data incident, excluding judges, Red Roof employees/officers, and those who submit a valid request for exclusion.

• Reimbursement for Out-of-Pocket Losses

  $10,000 each

  Class members who incurred financial losses fairly traceable to the Data Incident may receive reimbursement for ordinary out-of-pocket losses, including unreimbursed costs from identity theft or fraud, costs for credit monitoring services incurred on or after September 21, 2023, and miscellaneous expenses such as notary and postage fees.

• Pro Rata Cash Payment

  $100 each

  All Settlement Class Members may file a claim for a pro rata cash payment capped at a maximum of $100.00 per class member.

• Confirmatory Discovery

  Defendant has agreed to provide documents and information to Class Counsel demonstrating data security measures taken to remedy issues and implement business practices to ensure information security.

How to file

Submit a completed Claim Form by July 7, 2025. You can file a claim for out-of-pocket losses traceable to the data incident (with proof required, capped at $10,000), or a pro rata cash payment (capped at $100), or both. Visit the settlement website to access the Claim Form.
