What happened

Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. allegedly violated Illinois' Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) by collecting, storing, disclosing, and profiting from biometric identifiers and information from people who scanned their faces during Skin360 skin assessments without providing required written disclosures and obtaining written consent. The defendant denies wrongdoing and admits no violation.

Anyone who performed a Skin360 skin assessment using any version of Skin360 (including Neutrogena Skin360, NeoStrata Skin360, and collaborations with other entities) while located in Illinois through a mobile or web application between December 9, 2019 and May 5, 2023.

Who is in the class

A Settlement Class Member is any person who, while in Illinois, performed a Skin360® skin assessment using any version of Skin360®, including Neutrogena® Skin360®, NeoStrata® Skin360®, and any Skin360® collaborations with other entities (collectively, "Skin360®"), whether via mobile application or web application, between December 9, 2019 and May 5, 2023.
