What happened
Staten Island University Hospital was targeted by a cyberattack on The Medibase Group Inc.'s computer systems in January 2024. The attack resulted in unauthorized access to files containing personal information including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, hospital admit/discharge dates, outstanding balances, and health insurance information. SIUH's own computer systems were not impacted, and SIUH denies wrongdoing.

How to file
