What happened
AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company allegedly breached its contracts with Athena Universal Life II policyholders by implementing a cost of insurance rate increase announced in October 2015 and by concealing plans for this increase in policy illustrations since at least 2006. AXA Equitable denies wrongdoing.
Do you qualify?
The settlement includes two nationwide classes and a New York sub-class: owners of AUL II policies subject to the October 2015 COI rate increase (registered on or after March 8, 2016), and owners of AUL II policies without Lapse Protection Riders issued after July 10, 2006 that were subject to the rate increase.
How to file
Eligible class members do not need to take any action to receive payment; payments will be automatically distributed. You will be bound by the settlement and give up your right to sue AXA Equitable for these claims.
