Dufresne Spencer Group Data Incident Settlement

What happened

Dufresne Spencer Group experienced unauthorized access to its systems between May 15, 2023 and June 5, 2023, exposing sensitive personal information of employees and customers including names, contact information, banking details, Social Security numbers, driver's licenses, payment card information, and medical data. Dufresne denies any wrongdoing.

Do you qualify?

Anyone who resides in the United States and received written notification from Dufresne Spencer Group indicating that their private information was potentially accessed, viewed, and/or obtained as a result of the data incident that occurred between May 15, 2023 and June 5, 2023.

What you can claim

• Reimbursement for Documented Extraordinary Losses

  $2,500 each

  Reimbursement for extraordinary losses that are actual, documented, unreimbursed, and more likely than not caused by the Data Incident, occurring between May 15, 2023 and the Claims Deadline, provided the claimant made reasonable efforts to avoid or seek reimbursement for the loss.

• Reimbursement for Attested Lost Time

  $80 each

  Reimbursement for up to four hours of lost time spent dealing with the Data Incident at $20.00 per hour, totaling up to $80.00, provided at least one full hour was spent and the claimant attests to the time spent and provides a description of activities.

• Alternative Cash Payment

  $45 each

  An alternative flat cash payment of $45.00 that can be claimed instead of submitting claims for Attested Lost Time, Documented Extraordinary Losses, or Documented Out-of-Pocket Losses, and may be combined with a request for Credit Monitoring.

• Credit Monitoring

  Two years of credit monitoring provided to Settlement Class Members who request it through the Claim Form before the Claims Deadline of March 19, 2026.

• Information Security Improvements

  Dufresne will implement or maintain various data security improvements with costs paid by Dufresne separate from other Settlement Benefits.

Who is in the class

You are a Settlement Class Member if you reside in the United States and were sent written notification by Dufresne Spencer Group that indicated your Private Information was potentially accessed, viewed, and/or obtained as a result of the Data Incident that occurred between May 15, 2023 and June 5, 2023.

How to file

Submit a claim form online or by mail postmarked no later than March 19, 2026. Claimants can receive an Alternative Cash Payment of $45.00 without documentation, or submit documented receipts and proof of losses for reimbursement of out-of-pocket losses (up to $500), extraordinary losses (up to $2,500), or lost time (up to $80). Credit monitoring can be requested with any claim.
