Florida All X-Ray Settlement

What happened

GEICO allegedly misinterpreted Florida No-Fault Law by underpaying personal injury protection (PIP) benefits to healthcare providers. Specifically, GEICO failed to base reimbursements on the highest allowable amount under Medicare Part B for 2007 and improperly included a budget neutrality adjustment when calculating payment amounts for medical services.

Do you qualify?

Florida healthcare providers who held assignments of benefits from GEICO insurance policies and submitted claims for PIP benefits between September 18, 2015 and August 12, 2024, where GEICO allowed an amount less than the highest allowable amount under Medicare Part B for 2007 and issued payment based on that lower amount.

  Settlement class members (Florida healthcare providers with assignments of benefits) who submitted bills to GEICO for PIP benefits where GEICO allowed an amount less than the Highest Allowable Amount Under Medicare Part B for 2007 can receive payment from the settlement.

Who is in the class

All Florida healthcare providers who are/were the assigns or assignees of covered insureds under an automobile insurance policy issued by the GEICO Companies as described in s. 627.736, Fla. Stat., who at any time during the Class Period submitted bills to the GEICO Companies for payment of PIP benefits for all services, supplies or care described by the assigned CPT code for which the GEICO Companies allowed an amount that is less than the Highest Allowable Amount Under Medicare Part B for 2007 and issued payment based thereon.

How to file

Submit a complete Settlement Claim Form either via First Class Mail (postage prepaid) or through the Settlement Website. The claim form must be postmarked or uploaded no later than February 24, 2025, which is 150 days from the Class Notice Mailing Date.
