What happened
In April 2021, Parrot Island Waterpark's ticketing system was upgraded and began collecting sales tax in excess of the allowed amount on all tickets sold. This continued until November 30, 2023, when the error was discovered and corrected. The waterpark set aside all funds collected inappropriately, and an interpleader class action suit was filed to return money to affected patrons.
