What happened
Direct purchasers allege that Defendants conspired to fix, raise, and maintain prices for packaged tuna products, causing purchasers to pay more than they otherwise would have. Defendants deny liability but have agreed to settle to avoid litigation risks. Settlements with StarKist, DWI, and the Lion Companies have been reached and approved by the court on November 22, 2024.
Do you qualify?
Anyone who directly purchased packaged tuna products (cans or pouches, excluding tuna salad kits and cups) within the United States and its territories from any Defendant between June 1, 2011 and July 31, 2015. Excluded are governmental entities, Defendants and their affiliates, their officers and employees, federal judges and their staffs, and certain entities listed in the Court's Order.
How to file
File a claim online or by mail to receive cash payments and product vouchers. If you previously submitted a claim in the COSI/TUG Settlement, your prior claim will be used to calculate your benefits. The claim deadline (October 18, 2024) has passed, but eligible claimants received payments on March 17, 2026.
