What happened
A number of companies, individuals, and Hawai'i government entities caused damages through the August 2023 Maui wildfires (Lahaina, Olinda, and Kula fires). The defendants have agreed to settle related class action lawsuits to avoid the costs, risks, and uncertainties of continuing litigation. The defendants deny any wrongdoing.
Do you qualify?
Class members include anyone who owned, rented, or resided on real property within the fire perimeters or 0.5 miles away on August 8, 2023; business owners/operators within that area; people present within the fire perimeters between August 8-9, 2023; those suffering physical injuries or deaths from the fires; immediate family members of those present; those who purchased travel tickets before August 8, 2023 and suffered economic losses; and property or business owners who suffered damages from the fires between August 8 and October 8, 2023.
