What happened
Sunoco and other defendants allegedly violated Oklahoma's Production Revenue Standards Act by failing to pay statutory interest on late oil and gas production payments. Under Oklahoma law, oil and gas companies must pay production proceeds to owners within specific time periods and pay 6% or 12% interest if they fail to do so on time. The defendants allegedly only paid this interest when owners made a demand, rather than automatically as required by law. The court entered a judgment of $155,691,486 against the defendants.
Do you qualify?
Anyone who received untimely payments from Sunoco or its designees for oil proceeds from Oklahoma wells on or after July 7, 2012, and who has not already been paid statutory interest on those late payments. Excluded are U.S./Oklahoma government agencies, publicly traded oil and gas companies and their affiliates, and officers of the court.
