Cline v. Sunoco Oil and Gas Interest Payment Settlement

What happened

Sunoco allegedly violated Oklahoma's Production Revenue Standards Act by failing to pay statutory interest (6% or 12%) on late oil production payments unless owners made a demand. The class representatives alleged Sunoco violated state law and committed fraud by withholding owed interest. Sunoco denies all wrongdoing and liability.

Do you qualify?

Anyone who received late payments from Sunoco (or its designees) for oil proceeds from Oklahoma wells on or after July 7, 2012, and who has not already been paid statutory interest on those late payments, excluding U.S. and Oklahoma government agencies, publicly traded oil and gas companies and their affiliates, and certain other entities.

• Statutory interest on late payments

  Class members who received untimely payments for oil proceeds are entitled to statutory interest at either 6 percent or 12 percent depending on the cause of delay, as required by the Oklahoma Production Revenue Standards Act.

Who is in the class

All non-excluded persons or entities who: (1) received Untimely Payments from Defendants (or Defendants' designees) for oil proceeds from Oklahoma wells on or after July 7, 2012, and (2) who have not already been paid statutory interest on the Untimely Payments.
