What happened
A fire occurred at the SPS Technologies facility in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania from February 17–22, 2025, causing shelter-in-place and voluntary evacuation orders. Plaintiffs allege that individuals and businesses were impacted, injured, or damaged by the fire. SPS Technologies and its parent company Precision Castparts Corp. deny any wrongdoing.
Do you qualify?
Two classes qualify: (1) Business entities, including individuals and partnerships operating a business within the Settlement Class Area (Abington Township within one-mile radius of the facility, plus Adjacent Area and Voluntary Evacuation Zone) as of February 17, 2025; and (2) Individuals or entities who owned property, resided, or were employed within the Settlement Class Area as of February 17, 2025.
What the settlement pays
Up to $5,000 for documented business losses; up to $200 for documented hourly employee lost wages; up to $300 for documented property damage losses; plus pro rata residual payments
Paid from a $5M settlement fund. Individual amounts depend on how many valid claims are filed.
How to file
Submit a Claim Form online at www.SPS-Settlement.com or by mail by December 3, 2026. You can also call (833) 930-0975 to request a form. You must provide documentation of losses (business losses, employee wages, or property damage) to receive payment. If you do nothing, you will not receive a payment but remain part of the settlement.
