What happened
Samsara allegedly violated the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) by collecting and storing settlement class members' biometric data through the Camera ID feature of its dual-facing dashboard cameras without their consent. Samsara denies these allegations and any wrongdoing.
Do you qualify?
You are in the class if you operated a vehicle equipped with a dual-facing Samsara Dash Cam between December 16, 2016 and June 12, 2025 within Illinois, or if you are an Illinois resident who operated such a vehicle outside Illinois during that same period.
How to file
Submit a claim form postmarked or submitted online by September 29, 2025 to receive a cash payment and one free year of Privacy Shield data protection. An enrollment code to activate the protection can be found on the Postcard Notice you may have received or when you file your claim.
